Clinton or Obama? Ask Winnie - Ninety-One Year Old Woman Starts Blog
Prairie Springs, TX, February 10, 2008 –(PR.com)– Starring in a book about her town, Prairie Springs, Edwina “Winnie” Collins, plans on taking the Internet by storm with her blog, “Ask Winnie!”
A former Rockette dancer, the ninety-one year old has been around the block a few times. She’s been married on various occasions, though we couldn’t get an exact number from her, and is currently back on the market. This time, however, instead of another man, she’s going after the cyber world.
The advice she gives is take-it-or-leave-it, and she’s blunt off the bat about what this “advice” is worth. With the mouth of a sailor, her words are for the adult crowd, and half the time she goes off on incomprehensible tangents, leaving the reader to search between the lines, but like the disclaimer says, “…maybe you’ll laugh.” When she’s not answering questions, she’s complaining about her arthritic fingers, or searching for her teeth before a customer walks through the door of the Theater Café, which she co-owns.
“This whole machine business was Maxine’s idea,” Winnie Collins says, referring to her business partner about the newly installed computer at the cafe. “I ain’t got no sense about those things. Just today I found out it’s called an e-mail. I thought Maxine was saying a ‘knee mail.’ After I wrote my first one, I headed down to the post office for a roll of stamps.”
At the rate the questions are coming in, it will be a while before Collins can quit her day job, but she’s thrilled to have starred in L.R. Williamson’s book about her town, Prairie Springs (Booksurge, $15.99). She claims it has turned her life around, and she’s now excited to be a part of the place she once regretted calling home.
